Dr. Leah vanRossum

Dr. Leah vanRossum was born and raised in a small town in Nova Scotia. She graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College and drove across Canada with her partner and very unenthusiastic cat Lexi. In her spare time, Dr. Leah (let’s just forget that tricky last name) enjoys hiking, kayaking, and snowboarding; and she considers Vancouver Island to be a (warm) little slice of heaven. She has a keen interest in surgery and animal behaviour, and is currently working towards her level 3 Fear Free certification so she can provide positive, stress free visits for all her furry patients.

COVID-19: Additional measures we are taking

Dear Clients,

Due to the close contact that our work requires, we encourage wearing masks in our hospital to protect you and our team while providing care for your furry family members. Masks are only required while in the examination room with the veterinarians.

Due to the increasing demand for appointments, we are implementing a late cancellation and no show fee. Starting June 2, 2021, appointments missed or cancelled less than 24 hours before will be subject to a $25 fee.

We are still OPEN with the following hours:

Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Veterinarians available between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Have you welcomed a new furry family member to your home? We’d love to meet them! Visit our Must Know New Pet Owner Information page for useful resources and helpful recommendations for new pet owners.

Thank you for helping us be diligent for everyone's safety.

- Your dedicated team at Petroglyph Animal Hospital
